The baby is finally here

Maizlyn Brooke Anderson finally arrived on July 24th at 2:14 in the afternoon. She weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 20.25 incheds long. She has a nice sprinkling of light brown hair.
We just took her to the doctor for her two week appointment on Friday. She is up to 8lbs 11 oz and grew nearly 2 inches in the past two weeks. She has been a very good baby. She hardly ever cries and we have had several nights where we got nearly 7 hours of sleep. Last night she slept 5 and 1/2 hours straight. It makes a person feel almost normal.
Kadence loves Maizy and asks constantly to hold her.

So we really aren't very good at updating. We aren't even any good at taking pictures at the appropriate times. This past month we went to visit my parents in Idaho. We were there nearly four whole days and we stopped to visit Myan and Ana and Tosha and Clate on our way home. We got in the car Wednesday and realized we had not taken a single picture the whole week. Pathetic.
We had a very enjoyable visit though. And I realized how much I love Denver just for the fact that is snows one day melts the next and by the end of the week it could be up to 65. It is fantastic.
Yesterday we attended the "Fancy Party" given in honor of our niece Libby's birthday. It was a smashing hit with all the little girls and as you can see from the pictures most of the adults joined in the fun by putting on something fancy.

So as Jake said we are teaching the CTR-5 class. What a funny bunch of kids. Yesterday we were talking about the iron rod in Lehi's dream. We had some pictures on the board and some little figures. We had one guy who ended up in the river. So we asked them if there was any way he could make it out of the river. One little boy said "Maybe if he had really LONG arms he could get out."
Later we were talking about maps and signs and how we get to different places. One litttle boy piped up and said "My Dad doesn't need a map. He has Heavenly Father." It was funny at the time but now that I look back at it the same should be true for all of us. Heavenly Father should always be our first answer.
Kadence is growing so quickly. She is funny and has quite the active imagination. The other day as we were driving to her grandparents house she was looking out the window. Suddenly she turned to me and in an excited tone of voice she said, "Did you see that?"
I said "no what was it?"
"A monkey!"
Two minutes later the question was repeated "Did you see that?"
Again I said "No. What did you see?"
"Cheese!"
It must have been some cheese.

Roll Out the New Year

Happy New Year!

This year we thought we would try our hand at a family blog! We will see how it turns out.

First we should do some general updates on our lives.

1st off we are expecting our 2nd child in at the end of July! We are really excited to have another addition to our family! We don't know anything except that it's coming in July. :) We will keep you all posted.

Chantrie is still working as the designer for the grounds at the Denver Temple.

She loves it! She will often times wake up in the middle of the night and shake me out of a sound sleep. After I've come to long enough to be on my guard and ask what's wrong she says, "I just figured out what I can put in the ..... bed that would go great with my other flowers" and goes right back to sleep. I on the otherhand will not be returning to sleep until the adrenaline is out of my system. :)

This prego is much better than the last. For those of you who didn't know, Chantrie was in the extreeme morning sickness catagory for 5 months with Kadence. This time we seem to have gotten much better! She even asked for baccon last week. (Any meat would set her off- and don't play into the game when she asks you to list off some suggestions of things to eat. All it does is set her off and then you see the blur as she dashes to the bathroom.

Chantrie and I are team teaching the 4 year olds in primary this year. What a change. We usually have the 7 turning 8 class. Which is fun, but I think we are going to like this age better. Chantire does the lesson, and I do the games and inforcing. :) At least for now, we are only on week 3 as of today.

I'm still at my job doing mutual funds and stocks working for a broker dealer. This will be 6 years for me, and things are pretty interesting with the current economy. Overall they have been ok, but somethings are still having issues.

This year seems to have a lot of activity for us, and we hope that it is all carried out the way we need it to be.

We hope to post updates and stories this year, so check us out often.

Announcing Chake

Welcome everyone to the Adventures of Chake!

In case you were not aware of our family nickname let me briefly explain it. It's something that the Burton Family does to each of their children and their spouses. It helps everyone to identify which of the 9 children they are referencing.

Chantrie (Burton) married me, Jake so a combination of our names earns us CHAKE.

Chake currently consists of Chantrie, Jake, and our little daughter Kadence. We hope to expand that list soon, but currently have no adventures to share in that regards.

We recently became inspired to create a blog after attending a funeral for my grandpa in May. It was really fun to hear about old memories and find out about new births and remember faces I've only seen very little.

So we have decided to keep this blog so that we will be able to share our adventures with each of you.

Please check back often as we hope this will be a very eventful blog!
